Tredegar Tool Measures Ecofriendliness

Calculation of six indices provides measure of efficiency.

New at Tredegar’s booth is a software tool designed to help the nonwovens industry determine the eco-efficiency of its process, product or operation. Flowertool meatures carbon footprint, electric power consumption, renewable power rate, natural gas consumption, biomaterials rate and water footprint and creates a concise and accurate vision of a business’s or project’s eco-efficiency.

Currently, Excel-based, the system is expected to be launched through a web-based platform within the next couple of months. Upon the completion of the eco-calculation, the results are translated into a flower graph to give a quick, at-a-glance view of the sustainability level of a business or project. Tredegar executives hope as more businesses and projects use this system, it can be used as a tool to compare the ecofriendliness of processes.
